Abstract

The study investigated whether a depressed mood induction procedure (MIP), by increasing accessibility of negative self-related information and by negatively biasing judgement, would elevate Neuroticism scores on the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire. Depressed MIP did not alter Neuroticism, Extraversion or Lie scale scores. There was a tendency for the depressed MIP to raise Psychoticism scores.
