Abstract

The ascorbic acid content of leaves of three vegetables, Amaranthus viridis, Talinum triangulare and Telfairia occidentalis, was assessed at daylight intensities of 850, 700 and 354 lux. For each species, the ascorbic acid concentration was highest at 850 lux and least at 354 lux, while T. occidentalis had the highest concentration and A. viridis the lowest at all three daylight intensities.
