Abstract

The issue of increasing Egyptian exports is an important pivotal issue because one of the main goals of economic reform programs is to adjust the imbalance in the trade balance, which reached a deficit of about $ 40.313 billion in 2017, and the agricultural trade balance deficit contributes to this imbalance by about $ 8.193 billion in 2017. The problem of the study is that the current situation of the quantities exported from green beans and dry onions to various international markets does not achieve the best condition that maximizes the export revenue from it, despite the total agricultural exports in various markets in which Egypt has a competitive advantage, as the quantity of onion exports decreased from 457.33 Thousand tons in 2016 to 452.42 thousand tons in 2017, as well as the amount of green bean exports decreased from 24.966 thousand tons in 2016 to 13.901 thousand tons in 2017, as well as fluctuation and instability in the proportion of the contribution of green beans and dry onions in the structure of Egyptian agricultural exports, especially with the high rate of import growth Agricultural reported the growth rate of agricultural exports, which led to an increase in the agricultural trade balance of the country by about 8.193 billion dollars in 2017.
