Abstract

The Ba1.8-3x/2-y-zZnzLi0.4SiO4:xCe3+,yMn2+ phosphors were obtained through one-step calcination process of precursors prepared by chemical co-precipitation method. Crystal phase, excitation and emission spectra of phosphors were analyzed via XRD and FL. The excitation spectra cover a range of 320–370nm with the peak at 350nm, thus, BZLS phosphors can be excitated by NUV light emitted by InGaN chip. Emission spectra of BZLS phosphors show two bands with the peaks located at 394nm and 605nm under 350nm excitation, which corresponds to 5d→4f transition of Ce3+ and 4T1→6A1 of Mn2+ respectively. The energy transfer process from Ce3+ to Mn2+ could be considered as dipole-dipole interaction mechanism. The intensity of red emission increases with the content of Zn2+ increasing, and rises to a maximum when z=0.2. While the intensity of blue-violet emission decreases with the content of Zn2+ increasing. The dependences of Ce3+ and Mn2+ on the luminescence properties are similar to that of Zn2+.
