Abstract

Background The positive effect of auditory rehabilitation with a cochlear implant (CI) on tinnitus is well studied. However, it is unclear whether this is true to the same extent for different hearing disorders. Therefore, the aim of this study is to determine the differences in tinnitus, health-related quality of life, subjective hearing, perceived stress and psychological comorbidities in patients with asymmetric hearing loss (AHL), single-sided deafness (SSD) and double-sided deafness (DSD), before and after restoration of binaural hearing.
