Abstract
The influence of bromacil on net photosynthetic oxygen production of a unicellular green alga Selenastrumcapricornutum was investigated with a view to developing a rapid quantitative bioassay to determine herbicide residues. Oxygen production was measured using a biological oxygen demand electrode and concentrations of bromacil as low as 10 μ1/1 were detected.
