Abstract
The intravenous injection of zinc chloride immediately before and fifteen minutes after alloxan or dithizone prevented the usual hyperglycaemia observed 24 hours after induction of diabetes. This is supported by histological examination which showed that the itslets of those animals which were injected with zinc were intact and their beta cells stained normally.
