Abstract
1. 1. The effect of incubating the antigen T 2 phage with rabbit peritoneal exudate cell cultures is to increase the incorporation of tritiated uridine into RNA. The degree of incorporation is directly proportional to the relative concentration of T 2 phage in the culture. 2. 2. The species of RNA synthesized by rat peritoneal exudate cells in the presence or absence of T 2 phage are predominantly of large molecular weight. 3. 3. The presence of T 2 phage in peritoneal cell cultures stimulates the uptake of [ 14C]leucine into protein while it depresses the uptake of [ 14C]thymidine.
