Abstract

Adenyl cyclase activity which is highly responsive to stimulation by LH has been observed in the ovarian tissue of young rabbits, which had not responded to an ovulatory dose of LH. The sensitivity of adenyl cyclase to stimulation by LH was significantly higher in these younger animals than in ovaries with well developed interstitial and corpus luteum tissue which responded to LH by production of increased progestational steroids. In contrast in unstimulated tissue amounts of adenyl cyclase remained similar at all stages of development.
