Abstract

1. Among the rare and rare-earth oxides (Y2O3, L2O3, CeO2, Nd2O3, and HfO2), HfO2 (at 190°) and CeO2 (at 200–205°) have the strongest promoting effect on Co-kieselguhr and Co-MgO-kieselguhr catalysts in the synthesis of higher hydrocarbons from CO and H2. 2. The promoting effects of these oxides are weaker than those of ZrO2, TiO2, and ThO2.
