Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to investigate the effect of active time spent with older adults on young people’s attitudes toward ageism. A single-group pretest-posttest experimental design, one of the quantitative research approaches, was used in the study. In the study conducted with 15 young people in the spring semester of 2023, data were collected using the ‘Positive and Negative Ageism Scale.’ Non-parametric tests were preferred in the analysis of quantitative data since the number of participants in the experimental group was below 30. Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test was used to test the significance of the differences between the scores of two sets of in-group related measurements. According to this finding, it was determined that the students showed positive attitudes toward older adults after the application.
