Abstract

SummaryThe data obtained in the present study indicate that triflocin, a new diuretic, has no propensity for evoking hyperglycemia. In fact, it is so weakly hyperglycemic that special conditions, such as glucose loading, must be invoked before an increased blood glucose can be demonstrated. A greater tendency is for the drug to produce hypoglycemia, presumably by interference with the gastrointestinal absorption of glucose.
