Abstract

Objective To explore the application and the effect evaluation of assessment management in nursing safety control.Methods The original passive management such as cumulative deduction model was gradually transformed into active precaution safety management model.The objects of research were 5 wards that the assessment was applied to.The results were used to compare the changes of the nurses' safety consciousness,patients' safety culture cognition,spontaneous reporting of the adverse events,nursing quality and patients satisfaction before and after the implementation of active precaution safety management.Results In the 5 wards,nurses' safety consciousness and patients' safety culture cognition were improved; the spontaneous reporting of the adverse events increased and the nursing quality and patients' satisfaction both uplifted.Conclusions The assessment changed the previous deduction,criticism,notification and punishment model,strengthened the nurses' safety awareness and safety behavior and set up a positive patient safety cultural environment.By using theno punishment and confidential principle,in together with systematic collection,analysis,reviewing and summarizing the adverse events,stressing on the sharing and analyzing of the complex causes on the systematic,managerial and environmental levels,gradually realized the systematic security risk management strategy and achieved the feed-forward control of security incidents.The useful information analyzed from safety mistakes can be helpful in improving the nursing quality,patient safety and the implementation of active precaution management model.
