Abstract
Summary Increasingly educational psychology (EP) services are being asked to provide advice and support to schools and communities following tragic events. This article explains how we have attempted to establish systems of support for schools and each other before any such event. Educational psychologist involvement is one of a number of sources of support schools should be able to call upon both in preparing themselves and in responding to any unforeseen crisis. Here we concentrate upon the EP services but place them in the context of wider support from the local community.
