Abstract

The education of speech-language pathologists and audiologists is provided by over 250 colleges and universities at the master’s and doctoral level. The educational programs for speech-language pathologists and audiologists consist of academic coursework, clinical education, and supervised experience. The programs may take 2 to 3 years beyond the bachelor’s degree. Audiologists will require a doctoral degree beginning in 2012. Educational programs are accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.
