Abstract
The planned and comprehensive application of scientific attainments characteristic of developed socialism is introducing significant refinements in the classical stages of the reproductive process. After consumption and before production there arises the stage of the research effort [nauchnaia razrabotka], the importance of which grows continuously in the course of the scientific-technical revolution. It is specifically the stage of the research effort that assures the acceleration of the production and reproduction process, the growth of national income, and the possibility of changing the structure of its distribution in the direction of a higher share of consumption.
