Abstract

Fights against privileges and inequalities were one of the main areas of analysis of the Italian economists of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The aim of this paper is to show that Federico Caffe and Paolo Sylos Labini retrieve the Civil Economy tradition, discussing their economic thought focusing on those aspects of their works where we can retrace a critical approach similar to their predecessors on topics like rent, privileges and merit.
