Abstract

This paper analyzes the economic superiority brought by technical openness of open source software (OSS) in some domains from the view of market share and cost-benefit analysis of open source and traditional software. Then the thesis talks about the economic difficulties how open source software faces and related legal problems on copyright and patent. Based on these discussions, this article puts forward some corresponding countermeasures and suggestions considering China's actual situation. In order to accelerate the development of OSS, China should develop the operating system by Using Linux, establish OSS agreements, solve the problem of no warranty, and foster the talent and provide policy support.
