Abstract

The Asia-Pacific Educational Research Association (APERA) 2010 Conference was held on 23–26 November 2010, at Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This was the 3rd APERA conference. The 1st was held in 2006 in Hong Kong and the 2nd was held in 2008 in Singapore. Like its predecessors, APERA Conference 2010 was a collaborative effort by the leading international educational research associations. The organizers for the 2010 conference were APERA, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Malaysian Educational Research Association (MERA), the Educational Research Association of Singapore (ERAS), the World Educational Research Association (WERA), and the Institute of Teacher Education, Ministry of Education, Malaysia. Some of the other goodwill collaborators included the European Educational Research Association, American Educational Research Association, British Educational Research Association and Australian Educational Research Association. The APERA 2010 conference was supported by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia. The theme of the 2010 conference was: “The Ecology of Human Growth and Sustainable Societal Development: Contributions from Educational Research and Innovations”.
