Abstract
For the second consecutive year, the Research and Planning Division of the Economic Commission for Europe (a United Nations body) has published a detailed report on the European economic situation. The latest report (Economic Survey of Europe in 1948, International Documents Service, Columbia University Press, $2.50) is of the same high caliber as its predecessor (A Survey of the Economic Situation and Prospects of Europe) and provides a most valuable antidote to the propaganda reports on economic affairs that we get in the American press. Here, at last, are reliable and uncolored facts about the real situation in Europe. This article can also be found at the Monthly Review website, where most recent articles are published in full.Click here to purchase a PDF version of this article at the Monthly Review website.
