Abstract

One of the main research directions in functional and pathological neurochemistry is the study of structural and functional integrity of blood-brain barrier (BBB) in different parts and structures of the brain. Hyperbaric oxygenation (HBO) widely used in experimental biology and medicine is the modulating factor of permeability of BBB for lower-,oligo- and highmolecular substances including bilateral crossings of proteins (1,2). Taking into consideration the important role of hemodynamics and neuro-endocrine processes at HBO (3) we studied the dynamics of vasopressin-binding, nicotin-stimulated oxytocin-binding, estrogen-stimulated neurophysins (NPs), exogenous ferritin (Fer), serum albumin in the neurohemal tissue of pituitary (neurohypophysis) having ‘weak’ BBB and in blood serum at toxic regime of HBO — 0,7MPaO2, during 20–40 min, causing oxygen epilepsia (generalized convulsions) as well as in the postconvulsions periods. To exclude contamination of the tissue with serum proteins, perfusion of control and experimental rats carried out with 0,15M NaCl through the left atrium of the heart before decapitation of animals.
