Abstract

Roller coasters are an attractive, adventurous, and exciting form of entertainment. With the development of Chinese social and economic, many theme parks with the roller coasters or suspended roller coasters are built. The amusement machine accidents caused severe loss. The design method based on virtual prototype plays an important role for roller coasters. Firstly the framework of dynamic simulation is presented. The dynamic simulation modeling of a suspended roller coaster is constructed based on PRO/E. Secondly the kinematics characteristics and the dynamic characteristics of the suspended roller coaster are analyzed based on the modeling by using ADMAS. The results of the displacement, velocity, acceleration, as well as the connecting rods force constrains discussed in detail in this paper. The simulation analysis results showed that the track's helical curve part is needed to modify to obtain the appropriate acceleration and the safety constraints force. The simulation results could be used for the further analysis and optimization design of the suspended roller coaster.
