Abstract
A theoretical study has been undertaken into the dynamic plastic response of simply supported shallow and deep spherical shells subjected to exponentially decaying pressure pulses. The shells were assumed to be made from a rigid perfectly plastic material and exact solutions were obtained for three approximate yield conditions.
