Abstract

The quenching of pyrene fluorescence by I − in aqueous dodecyltrimethylammonium chloride (DDTAC) solutions was found to follow non-exponential behaviour. Analysis of the fluorescence decays according to the model proposed by Dederer et al. allows for a detailed quantitative description of the dynamic behaviour of I − in micellar DDTAC solutions.
