Abstract

Dynamic stress around the inclusion and salient in a piezoelectric strip subjected to dynamic incident anti-plane shearing (guided SH wave) is calculated. Using the repeated image superposition method, the analytical expression for scattering wave, satisfying stress-free and electric insulation conditions at the upper and lower horizontal boundaries of the strip, is obtained. The integral equations are set up with the boundary conditions and solved by orthogonal function expansion and effective truncation techniques. The obtained results clarify the characteristic features of the influence on the dynamic stress concentration factor and electric field intensity concentration factor. The analytical solutions are compared to the finite element modeling results to verify the accuracy of the conclusions of this paper.
