Abstract

Using Pierre Bourdieu's sociology, it sought to analyse the doxa about sustainability in the field which is represented by an internationalised organisation. The research strategy used was the case study and it is configured as a qualitative research of exploratory and descriptive character. The data collection occurred by means of semi-structured interviews with workers from the investigated organisation, organisation's document reading and news about the organisation in different mediatic sources reading. The data was analysed by an interrelation between the narrative analysis and the Bourdieusian sociology concepts. The results showed that the field's doxa: presents elements that do not corroborate to the sustainable development and that even denounce a symbolic domination within the field; and, is organised and structured by elements related to the weak sustainability, which pillars are the exploitation maintenance and the economic development continuity.
