Abstract
The decisions of the Twenty-Fourth Congress of the CPSU state: "The main task of the five-year plan is to secure a substantial rise in the material and cultural level of the life of the people. …" The decisions of the Congress also indicate the ways of realizing this task: high rates of development for socialist production, higher effectiveness of socialist production, scientific and technical progress, and accelerated growth in labor productivity.
