Abstract

The Prespa National Park has a large number ofamphibian species compared to other parts of Greeceand the Balkan Peninsula. This is due to the highvariety of habitats, the existence of relatively largeareas with shallow water around the lake and also dueto the existence of mountainous habitats very close toit. In this contribution, information is given on thebiology of the amphibians in the area, plus data onthe distribution and habitat preferences.
