Abstract

A system of recording spontaneous fasciculations in patients with motor neurone disease is described. The detection of fasciculations is more effective than that achieved by clinical examination. Estimates have been made of the mean and median frequencies of discharge. The relationship of the results of the study to other electrodiagnostic features of motor neurone disease is briefly discussed.
