Abstract
The arrangement of elastic and collagen fibers in human tunica albuginea corresponds to a simple pattern in which elastic fibers are oriented transversely. Collagenous fibers are abundant in all orientations. The relationship of this pattern to the mechanical stresses placed on this tissue by the inherent geometry of the corpora is discussed.
