Abstract
Standard water--oil emulsions are used to calibrate and check dielcometric water-content meters for oil; these are prepared in accordance with the Statements on Methods [i]. The dispersion of the emulsion does not affect the dielcometric result, so the dispersion is not considered in these statements. However, knowledge of the parameters of these standard emulsions considerably extends the area of application of these, which may be used for calibrating and checking other quality (composition) analyzers for oil, whose readings are dependent to some extent on the dispersion. As an example we consider spectral analyzers for oil water content [2, 3], turbidimeters and absorptiometers of the water-in-oil type, and various other analogous optiGal analyzers.
