Abstract

A method for the quantitative evaluation of the plastic-deformation effect on the change of the amplitude spectrum of the probe pulse in the evaluation of the pre-fracturing of structures is proposed. The evaluation is based on the representation of processes that affect the change in parameters of the elastic wave by the statistical model in the form of the Dirichlet distribution. Amplitude spectra of the longitudinal shear and Rayleigh reflected pulses in a 20GL steel sample before loading (in the initial state) and in the case of its expansion to the pre-fracture state are estimated in terms of the Dirichlet statistical model.
