Abstract

The technique of angle-resolved photoemission is applied to the direct measurement of the two-dimensional dispersion of energy bands in graphite, GaSe and PbI2. For graphite and GaSe comparisons with calculated band structures suggest good qualitative agreement with the measured band dispersion. Photon incidence angle spectra are presented for PbI2 which demonstrate the importance of optical matrix element effects in contributions to the vectorial photocurrent.
