Abstract

The article examines the development of digitalization of higher education in Hungary. The epidemiological situation and conditions of crisis phenomena in the world caused a significant acceleration of the process of digitalization of education without taking into account the available resource capabilities of the education system. The heterogeneity of digitization processes requires their understanding and analysis to identify productive options and possibly, their active use further.The investigation focuses on the information society, which is related to traditional education and has a significant impact on online activities and the process of online education on learning. The attention is concentrated on the need to develop methods and rules of electronic and programmed learning methods that are suitable for monitoring and developing digital education. The relevance of the problem of forming digital competence in Hungarian higher education institutions is obvious, since technical progress is developing at a fast pace, and digitalization has already penetrated all spheres of life, the education system, in particular. Digital competence determines the inevitability of the transformation of the process of education in educational institutions, taking into account the realities of the information society. It is the digital competence that allows you to be successful in the modern information space, manage information, make quick decisions, and form important life skills. Reforming system of education, professional training of teachers in the context of global requirements, introduction of new methods and technologies for their activities requires taking into account the experience of the leading countries of the world, in particular European countries, which have started the process of reforming system of education and already have a certain positive result.
