Abstract
The paper discloses the experience of increase in efficiency of operating activities in the industry of ferrous and non-ferrous metals scrap on the example of the Russian company “RosMetTrade”. The article discusses the ways of business processes automation in industry of ferrous and non-ferrous metals scrap using the modern digital technologies. The authors reveal the sources and factors for increasing the operational efficiency due to digitization of basic operations within business processes. Also, the information technologies applicable to business processes automation in industry of ferrous and non-ferrous metals scrap are defined. Each part of business processes which can be improved by the means of information technologies are described. There are three factors for increasing the operational efficiency using information technologies: (1) decreasing the time of implementing the internal transactions, (2) reducing the production cycle, (3) lowering the cost of operations.
