Abstract

The diffusion of ferro- and ferricyanide ions in potassium chloride aqueous solutions and in aqueous solutions containing up to 1 % of carboxymethylcellulose sodium salt has been studied between 23 and 43°C. The application of the rotating disk electrode to evaluate diffusion coefficients of ions in slightly non-newtonian solutions is dealt with. The results are discussed in terms of the Dη/ T ratios and the structure of the solutions with added CMC.
