Abstract

Non-transitional cell primary and secondary tumours of the bladder, taken together, make up less than 10% of malignant bladder neoplasms. Unfamiliar or unexpected neoplasms within these groups, as well as rare benign conditions mimicking neoplasia, are potential sources of diagnostic confusion in biopsy material. This review deals with the differential diagnosis of non-transitional cell tumours of the bladder, including secondary tumours and unusual primary tumours, according to their histological type.
