Abstract

The differences in the retention rates of mass and mechanical properties of different types of basalt fibers after being corroded by different corrosive solutions were studied. The structural changes of the fibers were analyzed by FTIR, and the surface characteristics of different types of fibers, as well as the differences in the content changes and behaviors of each element during the corrosion process were compared and analyzed by SEM and EDX. The results indicate that the corrosion resistance of calc-alkaline basalt fiber is better than that of alkali basalt fiber. The corrosion solution destroyed the structure of the fiber. There are differences in the behavior of different elements in the corrosion process. Ti, Ca, and Fe elements are conducive to the corrosion resistance of basalt fibers, Mg is beneficial to the stability of fiber in sodium hydroxide solution, but it adverse to the stability of fibers in hydrochloric acid.
