Abstract

Objective To analyze the difference and correlation of Braden pressure ulcer risk assessment scale and OH scale in orthopedic patients. Methods 100 cases of orthopedic inpatients of our hospital from March 2016 to September 2016 were selected by the convenience sampling method, and were assessed by Braden pressure ulcer risk assessment scale and OH scale by two nurses respectively. Results The Braden scale showed that there were 18 patients without risk of pressure ulcers, 22 patients with mild risk, 46 patients with moderate risk, and 14 patients with high risk; OH scale showed that there were 24 patients without risk of pressure ulcers, 24 patients with mild risk, 38 patients with moderate risk, and 14 patients with high risk; the difference between Braden pressure ulcer risk assessment scale and OH scale was 1.706 (P>0.05) and the correlation was 0.825 (P<0.001). Conclusion OH scale was correlative with Braden pressure ulcer risk assessment scale, and could be used to assess pressure ulcer risk in orthopedic patients.
