Abstract
The diameters of the cerebral arteries of 10 patients with surgically verified brain abscesses were compared on the pre- and postoperative angiograms. The inner diameters of the arteries were measured by a splitimage focusing technique. It has been shown that the brain arteries are clearly more dilated in the presence of a brain abscess than after the surgical drainage of the abscess.
