It has been our experience that abnormalities frequently observed in coronary artery disease patients (such as positive exercise tests) are not uncommon in patients with chest pain syndromes and normal coronary arteriograms; therefore, the presence of such abnormalities alone does not allow the clinician to diagnose coronary artery disease with a high degree of confidence.
