Abstract
Objective:To determine the pathological classification and clinical characteristics of intestinal duplication.Materials and methods;Most of 84 operated children with intestinal duplication were identified by laparotomy.The pathological classifications were diaphragm type(2),intramural cystic type(9),tubular type(31),cystic type(35),and solitary type(1).The clinical presentations and complications included abdominal mass(24),ileus(41),hemorrhage(15)and intestinal perforation assocaited with peritonitis(3).Results:Among them,82 recovered and two newborns died of intestinal fistula and septicemia,and toxic shock respectively.Conclusions:Keeping the pathological types,symptoms and complications in mind will inerease significantly the diagnosis accordance.
