Abstract

Since the reform and opening up of China from more than 40 years ago, Chinese basic music education experiences a great historical process with vigorous development towards standardization, institutionalization and modernization. From the perspective of policy research, this work analyses and discusses the reform path of music education in primary and secondary schools in China since the reform and opening up. It believes that the music education policy of modern primary and secondary schools in China has gone through a process of recovery, promotion, adjustment to innovation with gradual progress. Its evolution is not only affected by political, social, economic and other external factors, but also depends on the change of educational concept, value preference and cognition level. It shows the internal logic change from the utilitarianism to people-oriented, from knowledge and skills oriented to aesthetic oriented, and from efficiency priority to education equity and development priority.
