Abstract

Recent trends in industry indicate the importance and efficient use of portable vibration analysis as part of an integrated machine condition monitoring program. This paper concentrates on machine vibration analysis and the influence of the various mounting techniques associated with vibration transducers. The vibration signal quality is considered throughout and emphasis is placed on the effect of the applied mounting force when collecting vibration data manually. Also, the types of vibration software systems and the choice of transducer for optimum results are discussed.
