The development of the researches about the mechanisms of paraneoplastic rheumatic syndromes

Abstract

Paraneoplastic rheumatic syndromes(PRS) are the rheumatic syndromes caused by tumor,which are usually misdiagnosed at beginning as idiopathic rheumatic diseases since the cancer is occult. And as a result of endocrine disorder and aberrant immune responses, the pathogcnesis of PRS involves tumor-derived biologic mediators such as hormones, cytokines, peptides and antibodies. It is important to know that the recent researches about paraneoplastic rheumatic syndromes from the aspects of definition, epidemiology, clinical manifestation, pathogenesis and clinical outcome.
