Abstract

The article discusses the influence of the Soviet science and technology policy on the structure of the higher education system, activities of the universities, the content of the educational process in the 1920s — 1930s. Particular attention is paid to the process of reorientation of higher education from the training of generalists to the training of narrowly specialized specialists and an increase in their output, due to the needs of the economy of the USSR during the period of accelerated industrialization.
