Abstract

Abstract Occupational pension schemes are supplementary pension schemes that are related to a particular occupation or contract of employment. When an individual leaves that occupation, he will generally leave the pension scheme and have his accumulated pension rights transferred to the scheme of his new employer. Personal pension schemes, on the other hand, are supplementary schemes that are not tied to a specific contract of employment.
