Abstract
A CAD system, DAZACAD, developed by an interior design firm, DAZA International Inc., is presented. This system includes subsystems of program management, modeling, labeling, production and bill of material (BOM) based on an Architectural and Engineering System (AES). New building systems and components, such as beams, columns, ceilings and finishes, are defined. Several issues regarding the demands in practice are stated, such as the clarification of the definition of architectural components for construction needs, production, security of drawing data's accuracy, flexible symbol management, and secured hierarchical privilege management.
