Abstract
The objective of this research is to develop a cyber-physical framework for classifying health beverage preference (taste, colour, and odour) that appropriate for the ageing society. There are eight health beverages and the questionnaires are used to gather the preference information for taste, colour and odour from the ageing society groups, according to United Nations’ recommendation, that are aged between 60-65 years and those over 65 years. In order to recommend health beverage for the ageing society, the artificial neural network (ANN) with multilayer perceptron architecture (MLP) has been applied to classify the beverage preference for the ageing consumer. Web application has been developed to collect the health beverage preference information of consumers and shows the recommended health beverage. After that, the results from the Web application are demonstrated into a cyber-physical vending machine for suggesting the appropriate health beverage for the ageing consumer groups. The results of this research can benefit consumers and manufacturers. The consumer gains the knowledge how to select the appropriate health beverage according to their health. In addition, the manufacturers can produce products that match the consumer’s preference.
