Abstract
Abstract The purpose of this study was to determine whether the creative thinking skills of fourth grade pupils could be enhanced through the use of classroom activities designed to stimulate fluency, flexibility, and originality. The effect of an eight week treatment program was evaluated by a pretest and posttest. A correlated t‐test was used to test the hypothesis present in this study. The correlations between IQ and creativity, and between reading and creativity were also established. The findings of this study indicated that the creative thinking skills of fourth grade pupils can be improved through classroom activities. Significant correlations were found to exist between IQ and creativity, and between reading and creativity.
